The Geological and Mining Park of Central Catalonia, actively works for the protection of its geological heritage and integrates it into a territorial strategy of sustainable economic development.

Corbella Olive tree variety is a fundamental part in Oli Migjorn project and we can find it along the bank of the Cardener River.

Oli Migjorn recovers and revives old Corbella’s variety olive trees from different country houses located along the Cardener river bank, in Bages and Solsona region. The company also plants new olive trees in many rented country houses with the only purpose of recovering Corbella variety and its production. With these actions, the olden times landscape is recovered in our territory when olive trees where all around together with the vineyard cultivar. Nowadays this landscape is recovered in different villages from Bages region such as Navàs, Cardona and Súria and others from Solsonès region like Navès, Clariana del Cardener, Riner and Pinós.

Arbequina variety is already the most extended around the Catalan territory, and each place, climate or soil determines its features. Migjorn’s olive trees are planted at 600 altitude meters, in a place where climate changes are abundant and at the same time the key of our Arbequina olive constitution.
